NTA Degree Exam

The NTA held the annual Degree examination at Master Wallace's gym in Aberdeen on Saturday 12th November. Michael Stewart (pictured below, kneeling far right) became our first student promoted to first degree blackbelt on this day.

The exam started on Friday 11th November with a 2 hour written test for all candidates. All candidates passed.
 

On Saturday, the day started at 9am with a 2-1/2 hour technical seminar. The practical exam began at 1pm with all candidates performing 9 patterns (including performing their grade patterns by themselves). This was followed by Technical Kicking, Sparring (one on one, two on one and three on one) depending on grade, one step, then foot sparring and knife defence for 2nd & 4th Deg, followed by Power Test.

RESULTS WERE AWARDED AS FOLLOWS:
Mr Mark Boydell 5th Degree (Inverbervie/Stonehaven)
Mrs Jacqui Wallace 3rd Degree (Aberdeen)
Stephen Robertson 1st Degree (Aberdeen)
Julie Whyte 1st Degree (Aberdeen)

Michael Stuart 1st Degree (Forfar)
Katrina Carr 1st Degree (Stonehaven)

Unfortunately Mr Ingram II Deg had to pull out of the practical exam due to a recurring knee injury which he had received during the pre-test earlier this year.

Seminar with Master Gordon Wallace VII

Master Gordon Wallace VII Degree will be holding a seminar for colour belt students at Inverbervie Sport Centre on Saturday 20th August, time 1pm - 5pm. This will offer students the opportunity to train and learn from one of the UK's leading TaeKwon-Do Masters. The fee for this seminar is £25, due to limited space this seminar will be restricted to the following grades:

        10 - 12 Years = 5th Kup & above, 13 Years & over = all grades.


GMac West Lothian Open 2011

GMac TaeKwon-Do will be hosting the above event at Blackburn Community Centre, West Lothian, on Saturday 3rd September with a start time of 9.00am (doors will open at 8:30 for registration).


This competition is open to all grades, and there will be seperate divisions for Under 9s, 9 – 12 yrs, 13 – 17 yrs, 18 – 35 yrs, and 36 yrs plus.

Entry fee for all grades is £20

The Gathering 2011

The above event, hosted by TKD Sport, will take place at Bells Sport Centre, Perth on Saturday 10th September. Again tournament is open to all TKD students and include Pattern, Sparring, Power Test and Special Technique.
